Surgery in Port Richey, FL
About this service
Some surgeries are performed for routine care such as spay & neuter, while others are life-saving procedures. We do it all!
Can you do emergency surgery?
Yes. We perform emergency surgery during our regular business hours, so while we're open you have an alternative to an emergency hospital — and it's often more affordable than an emergency hospital. If your pet needs urgent surgery, call 727-847-9111 right away so we can prepare. After hours: nearest ER.

Frequently asked questions
How should I prepare my pet for surgery?
In general, withhold food the night before surgery and allow water unless we tell you otherwise. Follow our specific instructions for your pet's medications. Every pet has a pre-op exam and bloodwork before surgery or anesthesia. Call 727-847-9111 with any questions before the day of the procedure.
What kinds of surgery do you perform?
We perform routine procedures such as spays and neuters as well as soft-tissue surgeries. Dr. Jalan Wishik has a special interest in soft-tissue surgery. A traveling surgeon comes to our clinic to perform orthopedic and complex soft-tissue surgeries, and we rely on specialists as needed.
How is my pet kept safe and comfortable during surgery?
Before surgery we examine your pet, run bloodwork and review their health history. During anesthesia, your pet's vital signs are monitored, and pain management is planned before, during and after the procedure. We'll send you home with written aftercare instructions and medications if needed.
What does recovery at home look like?
Most pets need a quiet space, limited activity and protection from licking the incision, often with a cone or recovery suit. Check the incision daily for swelling, discharge or opening. Call 727-847-9111 if your pet stops eating, vomits repeatedly, seems very painful or the incision looks abnormal.
