Frequently asked questions
What pocket pets and exotics do you see?
We proudly treat small pocket pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, rats, gerbils and hamsters, and even some reptiles, case by case. If you have an exotic pet not listed here, call 727-847-9111 before booking so we can confirm we're able to help.
How often should a rabbit or small mammal see a vet?
Most pocket pets benefit from a wellness exam at least once a year, and seniors more often. Small mammals hide illness well, so regular checkups help catch dental overgrowth, weight loss, skin issues and other problems early. Rabbits may also benefit from spay or neuter surgery.
What signs mean my pocket pet needs urgent care?
Small animals can get sick quickly. Call right away if your pet stops eating or producing droppings, has diarrhea, labored breathing, a head tilt, bleeding or lethargy. A rabbit that hasn't eaten in 12 hours needs prompt attention. During business hours, call us at 727-847-9111.
